About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Chemical Engineer with specialist skills in process simulation and modelling to join their innovative team in Cambridge . This role is essential for optimising existing processes and developing new ones through advanced computational techniques. You will utilise state-of-the-art software to predict process behaviour, troubleshoot complex issues, and identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain dynamic and steady-state process models using industry-standard simulation software.
- Perform sensitivity analyses and optimisation studies to improve process performance, yield, and energy efficiency.
- Support process design, scale-up, and troubleshooting activities through detailed modelling.
- Analyse complex process data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, and control engineers to integrate simulation results into plant operations.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in process simulation technology and methodologies.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on modelling and simulation.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process simulation and modelling within the chemical industry.
- Expertise in using software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, gPROMS, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport phenomena.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex technical information in Cambridge .
