Chemical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a creative and driven Chemical Engineer to join their innovative product development team in Cardiff . In this role, you will be instrumental in the research, design, and scale-up of new chemical products and formulations. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, translating laboratory discoveries into commercially viable solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development activities to discover and formulate new chemical products.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate product performance, stability, and scalability.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
• Scale up processes from laboratory bench to pilot plant and eventually to commercial production.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand market needs and customer requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on R&D findings.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Proven experience in product development, formulation, or process scale-up.
• Strong understanding of chemical principles and laboratory techniques.
• Experience with experimental design (DoE) and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with intellectual property processes and patent landscaping.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to innovation.
