Chemical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and analytical Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic Product Development team in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the research and development of new chemical products and formulations.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, pilot trials, and process scale-up activities for new product introductions.
• Characterize product performance and ensure it meets defined specifications and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and sales, throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop and document new product manufacturing processes, ensuring they are robust and scalable.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and patent disclosures related to new product development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Proven experience in product development , formulation, and scale-up within the chemical industry.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques for material characterization.
• Understanding of stage-gate processes and product commercialization strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment in Edinburgh .
