Chemical Engineer - Production Support

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Chemical Engineer to provide essential production support at their facility in Portsmouth . This role will focus on optimizing day-to-day chemical manufacturing processes, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring consistent product quality. You will be a key link between the production floor and engineering departments, driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role offering the chance to make a direct impact on operational efficiency and product output in a dynamic manufacturing environment located in a historic naval city.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production teams to resolve immediate process issues.
• Monitor key process parameters and identify opportunities for yield improvement and waste reduction.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the commissioning and validation of new equipment and process modifications.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production processes.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure product specifications are met consistently.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or production support role.
• Familiarity with process control systems and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles applied in industrial settings.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
