About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Engineer to provide essential production support at their facility in Manchester . This role is critical in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of their manufacturing processes. You will be the first point of contact for operational challenges, working on the plant floor to diagnose issues, implement immediate solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on approach, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of chemical manufacturing principles within a demanding production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-the-spot technical support to production teams, troubleshooting process deviations and equipment malfunctions to minimize impact on output.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization.
- Implement process improvements that enhance safety, product quality, throughput, and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering departments on preventative maintenance strategies and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality regulations and procedures on the plant floor.
- Assist in the commissioning and validation of new equipment and process modifications.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment within the chemical industry.
- Practical experience with process control systems, P&IDs, and understanding of various unit operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with operators, technicians, and management.
- A proactive and safety-conscious attitude is essential for success in this Manchester -based role.
