Chemical Engineer - Project Execution

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Chemical Engineer to join their project execution team in Liverpool . This hybrid role balances office-based collaboration with the convenience of remote work, allowing you to contribute effectively to diverse capital projects. You will be responsible for the technical oversight and successful implementation of chemical process projects, from conceptualisation through to commissioning. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management and engineering within a leading chemical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the project manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring of capital projects involving chemical processes.
• Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and P&IDs for new equipment and process modifications.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are met.
• Conduct site inspections and assist in the commissioning and start-up of new process units.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during project execution and provide solutions.
• Ensure all project activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in chemical engineering, with a focus on project execution or process design.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and CAD tools.
• Understanding of project management principles and construction site safety.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Good communication and organizational abilities, suitable for a hybrid working model.
