Chemical Engineer - Project Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer with strong project management skills to join their team in Norwich . This hybrid role focuses on overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of capital projects related to chemical plant infrastructure and process upgrades. You will manage all phases of project lifecycles, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of chemical engineering projects, from initiation to closure.
• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, and procurement teams, as well as external contractors and vendors.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Communicate project status and updates effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical engineering, with at least 3 years in project management or project engineering roles.
• Proven experience managing capital projects in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) and tools.
• Familiarity with process design, safety reviews, and plant operations.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
