Chemical Engineering Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineering Project Manager to lead a variety of capital and process improvement projects at their facility in Reading . This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise in chemical engineering and proven project management capabilities. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial concept development and feasibility studies through to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. This is a crucial role for driving innovation and ensuring the successful execution of strategic engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple chemical engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop project plans, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee the design and engineering phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers throughout project execution.
• Monitor project progress, report on key milestones, and manage changes effectively.
• Ensure all projects are delivered with a paramount focus on safety, environmental compliance, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in chemical process design and project management.
• Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk assessment, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
