Chemical Engineer - Project Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Chemical Engineer with strong project management skills to join their expanding operations in Leeds . This role involves managing capital projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors, overseeing all phases of project execution. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, and execution.
• Coordinate and supervise engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental , and regulatory requirements throughout project lifecycle.
• Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation, and risk management plans.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Prepare project progress reports and present updates to senior management.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical or process industries.
• Proven track record of successfully managing medium to large-scale capital projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project planning software and standard engineering design software.
