About the Role
Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Chemical Engineer with a strong aptitude for Project Management to join their team in Southampton . This role involves overseeing chemical engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will liaise with clients, manage project teams, and ensure technical feasibility and successful execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking to leverage their technical expertise in a leadership and client-facing capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for chemical engineering projects, from scope definition to final handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate and direct the work of engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and managing expectations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for future improvement.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering with a strong academic background.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in chemical process design and implementation.
- Demonstrable experience in project management , preferably within the chemical or process industries.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in Southampton .
