Chemical Engineer - Research & Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Chemical Engineer to join their dedicated Research & Development team in Sunderland . You will be involved in laboratory-scale experimentation, pilot plant trials, and the scale-up of novel technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to explore new chemical pathways and product formulations.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive research reports.
• Develop and optimize processes for pilot plant and potential manufacturing scale-up.
• Collaborate with chemists, materials scientists, and other engineers on R&D projects.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies relevant to the company's strategic goals.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• Strong background in reaction engineering, separation processes, or materials science.
• Experience with laboratory equipment, data acquisition, and statistical analysis.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research and solve complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
