About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer with a specialization in performance chemicals to join their facility in Birmingham . This role is central to enhancing our client's product line through innovative process development and optimization. You will work on projects that improve product yield, purity, and consistency while ensuring adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for speciality chemicals, focusing on yield improvement and cost reduction.
- Conduct pilot plant trials and manage the scale-up of new chemical products from lab to full production.
- Perform detailed process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety recommendations.
- Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met consistently.
- Design and implement process control strategies to enhance operational efficiency and stability.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including batch records and process validation reports.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering .
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in speciality or fine chemicals.
- Demonstrated experience in process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DoE).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, Birmingham -based environment.
