About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead projects in the Speciality Chemicals division based in Coventry, West Midlands . This pivotal role involves leading a team of engineers in the design, development, and scale-up of novel chemical processes. You will be at the forefront of innovation, ensuring that new products are brought to market efficiently and sustainably. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of new chemical processes for speciality chemical production.
- Manage and mentor a team of process and chemical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Oversee pilot plant operations and scale-up activities, ensuring smooth technology transfer to full-scale manufacturing.
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for R&D and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct techno-economic evaluations and feasibility studies for new process technologies.
- Ensure all processes comply with stringent safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in the chemical industry, with a significant focus on speciality chemicals development and process scale-up.
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects from concept to completion.
- Expertise in reaction engineering , separation processes, and process control strategies.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP and ISO standards relevant to chemical manufacturing.
