Chemical Engineering Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chemical Engineering Project Manager to lead key capital projects at their world-renowned research and development facility in Oxford . This role demands a strong blend of technical acumen in chemical engineering and exceptional project management skills to oversee the successful execution of complex projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope, contributing to the company's continued innovation and growth in the scientific sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of chemical engineering projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal engineering teams, external contractors, and vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
• Oversee process design reviews, HAZOP studies, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project status, updates, and key decisions to stakeholders, including senior management.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in chemical engineering, with at least 5 years in project management roles.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale capital projects in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or R&D sectors.
• In-depth understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2).
• Strong knowledge of process design, safety regulations, and engineering standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
