About the Role
Our client is seeking a practical and experienced Chemical Plant Engineer to oversee the operational integrity and continuous improvement of their manufacturing plant in Nottingham . This role is fundamental to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability in our chemical production processes. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to address plant issues, implement upgrades, and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to make a tangible difference in a key industrial facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor plant operations to ensure optimal performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures and process upsets.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for critical plant equipment.
- Oversee process modifications and upgrades, ensuring they meet safety and operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations .
- Manage site utilities and infrastructure to support seamless production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant engineering or operations role within the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment (reactors, pumps, heat exchangers), and instrumentation.
- Experience with maintenance management systems and MOC (Management of Change) procedures.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
