Chemical Plant Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Chemical Plant Manager to lead their operations in Southampton . This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall management of the plant, including production, safety, quality, and financial performance. You will ensure efficient operation of the facility, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a high-performance culture among the plant staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical manufacturing and proven leadership experience in a plant management capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Drive efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives across the plant.
• Manage and develop the plant's workforce, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure product standards are met.
• Liaise with corporate management, suppliers, and customers regarding plant performance and strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical plant operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven experience in leading large teams and managing plant budgets.
• Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and operational best practices.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
