About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Derby . This role is central to developing and refining the chemical processes that underpin our client's product lines. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing processes from initial feasibility studies through to detailed engineering phases. Working within a collaborative environment, you will leverage cutting-edge technology and your engineering expertise to create efficient, safe, and sustainable chemical operations. This hybrid role offers a balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process designs, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct process simulations and calculations to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Perform feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process concepts.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, equipment vendors, and construction teams.
- Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support during plant construction and commissioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Proven experience in chemical process design and engineering.
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separation technologies, and heat transfer.
- Familiarity with process safety principles and risk assessment techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
