About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Chemical Process Design Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects in Oxford . This role involves the conceptualization, design, and development of new chemical processes and modifications to existing ones. You will work closely with R&D, project management, and operations teams to translate requirements into robust, safe, and efficient process designs. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills in process design principles and a keen eye for detail, playing a vital role in the company's development of advanced chemical solutions in Oxfordshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing chemical plants.
- Perform mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and process simulations.
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and ensure designs meet safety and environmental standards.
- Specify process equipment, including reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, and distillation columns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate process designs with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation for process design packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical process design and engineering.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat/mass transfer.
- Knowledge of process safety principles and relevant industry codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in Oxford .
