Chemical Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Milton Keynes . This role focuses on the development and scale-up of innovative chemical processes from laboratory bench to pilot and commercial scale. You will work closely with research scientists and production teams to bring new products and technologies to life. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and hands-on experience in process development. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale-up chemical processes from lab to plant scale.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters, yields, and product quality.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure designs meet safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare detailed process documentation, including batch records, operating procedures, and validation reports.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions during pilot and manufacturing campaigns.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful technology transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support within the chemical industry.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and pilot plant operations.
• Familiarity with process safety concepts and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation for process optimization.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
