About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Cardiff . This role is critical for advancing our product development pipeline, focusing on the creation and refinement of novel chemical processes. You will work closely with research scientists and production teams to translate laboratory innovations into robust, scalable manufacturing methods. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes for new products.
- Design and execute experiments to characterize process parameters and identify critical control points.
- Perform scale-up studies from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial production scales.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive reports with recommendations.
- Ensure all processes comply with stringent safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Proven experience in process development and scale-up, ideally within a pharmaceutical or fine chemicals background.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques relevant to process chemistry.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation technologies.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
