Chemical Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Cardiff . This is a hands-on role focused on bringing innovative chemical processes from the laboratory to pilot scale and ultimately to full production. You will be crucial in developing robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will possess strong practical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will collaborate closely with research scientists and production engineers to overcome technical challenges and ensure successful process implementation within our Cardiff facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate laboratory-scale chemical processes to pilot and commercial-scale operations.
• Design and execute experiments to optimize reaction conditions, yields, and product purity.
• Develop detailed process descriptions, flow sheets, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures for new and existing processes.
• Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth process scale-up and commissioning.
• Analyze process data, identify trends, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering .
• Demonstrable experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support.
• Experience with laboratory and pilot plant operations.
• Understanding of process safety principles and environmental compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage project timelines in a manufacturing environment .
