Chemical Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Chemical Process Development Scientist to join their innovative team in Nottingham . This hybrid role allows for both on-site laboratory work and remote collaboration, providing a flexible and dynamic working environment. You will be instrumental in translating novel chemical concepts into robust, scalable, and commercially viable manufacturing processes. This is a prime opportunity for a scientist with strong chemical engineering understanding to contribute to the development of next-generation products and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and analyse experiments to develop and optimise chemical processes.
• Develop detailed process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Perform scale-up studies from laboratory bench to pilot scale, troubleshooting any issues encountered.
• Collaborate with formulation scientists, analytical chemists, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Author comprehensive technical reports, process documentation, and safety assessments.
• Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in process development and chemical manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering , Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis techniques (e.g., DoE).
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separations, and physical chemistry.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and pilot plant operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team structure.
