Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Birmingham . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our chemical production lines. You will work hands-on with plant operations, analyzing performance data, and implementing enhancements to optimize product quality and output. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver eager to contribute to a team focused on operational excellence and safety in a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze chemical process performance, identifying areas for improvement in efficiency and yield.
• Develop and implement process modifications, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and equipment malfunctions.
• Prepare technical reports on process performance, safety incidents, and improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operators and maintenance teams to ensure safe and effective plant operations.
• Support capital investment projects related to process upgrades and new equipment installation.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering .
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or process engineering role.
• Experience with process control systems and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations relevant to chemical plants.
• Ability to work effectively in a plant environment, including occasional shift work or call-outs.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
