Chemical Process Optimisation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Optimisation Engineer to join their established team in Norwich . This role is essential for driving efficiency and sustainability across our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for analyzing existing chemical processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance yield, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste. Working closely with plant engineers and operators, you will play a key part in maintaining our competitive edge through continuous process enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in chemical manufacturing.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize process parameters for increased yield and reduced operating costs.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new technologies and process modifications.
• Utilize statistical methods and process simulation tools to model and improve process performance.
• Develop and deliver training on best practices for process optimisation to operational teams.
• Ensure all optimisation activities align with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in process engineering with a focus on optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Strong understanding of chemical unit operations and process control strategies.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
