About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Chemical Process Safety Engineer to join their esteemed team in Oxford . This role is paramount to ensuring the safety and integrity of our chemical operations. You will be responsible for implementing and managing robust safety management systems, conducting thorough risk assessments, and driving a culture of safety consciousness throughout the organization, contributing to a secure and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
- Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety legislation and industry standards (e.g., COMAH, Seveso Directive).
- Develop and deliver process safety training to operational and engineering staff.
- Review process designs and modifications for safety implications before implementation.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience focused on process safety in the chemical or process industries.
- In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and safety engineering principles.
- Experience with safety software and incident investigation techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to process safety.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent report-writing abilities.
