About the Role
Our client is seeking a driven and organised Chemical Project Engineer to manage and execute capital projects within their facility in Norwich, Norfolk, UK . This role is essential for the successful delivery of projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements. You will work closely with internal teams and external contractors, applying your expertise in chemical engineering and project management to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution, contributing to the company's growth and infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the lifecycle of chemical engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Develop project scopes, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Oversee the work of contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to project requirements and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Prepare project reports and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical industry.
- Proven ability to manage capital projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of process design, safety principles, and project management methodologies.
- Experience with P&IDs, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
