Child Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Child Development Officer to contribute to their well-respected childcare facility in Edinburgh . This role focuses on supporting the holistic development of young children through play-based learning and individualized care. You will work within a team committed to providing a stimulating and safe environment, fostering children's curiosity, creativity, and social skills. This hybrid role allows for both in-person engagement with children and some remote administrative or planning tasks, offering flexibility while maintaining a high standard of care and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities aligned with curriculum guidelines.
• Monitor and document children's progress, communicating effectively with parents and carers.
• Ensure a safe, stimulating, and hygienic environment for all children.
• Support children's emotional well-being and social development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive and high-quality childcare provision.
• Undertake administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication, which may be performed remotely.

Requirements

• HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Early Education and Childcare or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in an early years setting.
• Sound knowledge of child development theories and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to a hybrid working model.
