About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Child Development Officer to join their well-established nursery in Derby . This role focuses on supporting the educational and emotional development of children within the nursery setting. You will work closely with the teaching team to implement engaging activities, observe and assess progress, and ensure a nurturing environment that promotes learning through play. Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework across all age groups.
• Plan and deliver stimulating activities tailored to individual children's developmental needs and interests.
• Observe, document, and assess children's progress, contributing to learning records and reports.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Assist with daily routines, including feeding, personal care, and hygiene.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in childcare, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in an early years environment.
• Good understanding of child development principles and the EYFS .
• Strong observation and assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children in Derby .
