Child Protection Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Child Protection Officer to join their team in Nottingham . You will act as a key point of contact for safeguarding concerns, provide guidance to staff, and liaise with external agencies as necessary. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and review safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Act as the designated safeguarding lead, responding to and managing child protection concerns.
• Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding best practices.
• Liaise effectively with external agencies, such as social services and the police, when required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of safeguarding concerns and actions taken.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate risks to children.

Requirements

• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., social work, early years leadership with safeguarding focus).
• Significant experience in a safeguarding or child protection role.
• In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation and procedures.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
