Childcare Assistant - Part-Time

About the Role

Our client is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant to join their team at a nursery in Plymouth . This part-time role involves supporting the senior staff in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children of various ages. You will assist with daily routines, activities, and general care, gaining valuable experience in the early years sector. The ideal candidate is proactive, friendly, and possesses a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision and care of children in assigned age groups.
• Support the planning and delivery of engaging daily activities.
• Help maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for all children.
• Assist with feeding, nappy changing, and personal hygiene routines as required.
• Communicate positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Support the room leader and other staff members as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a childcare setting is advantageous but not essential.
• An interest in child development and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability and a responsible attitude towards work.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
