Childcare Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and caring Childcare Assistant to join their team in Wolverhampton . This hybrid role supports the daily running of the nursery, assisting qualified practitioners in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children. You will engage with children, support their learning and development through play, and assist with daily routines. Key Responsibilities

• Support the lead practitioner in delivering the EYFS curriculum through play-based activities.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, hygienic, and stimulating environment for all children.
• Engage with children, providing encouragement and support for their learning and development.
• Help with children's personal care needs, including feeding and hygiene.
• Observe and record children's progress, contributing to their learning journals.
• Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents, promoting positive relationships.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare or willingness to work towards one.
• Some experience working with children is advantageous but not essential.
• A basic understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
• A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude towards working with children.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to adapt to a hybrid working model, potentially involving some remote administrative tasks related to child development planning or parent communication.
