Childcare Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and caring Childcare Assistant to join their friendly nursery in Nottingham . This role involves providing essential support in the daily care and education of young children aged 0-5. You will work under the guidance of experienced practitioners, assisting with a range of activities designed to promote children's learning, development, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a desire to contribute to a positive and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist practitioners in delivering stimulating and age-appropriate activities.
• Provide direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Help maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming nursery environment.
• Support children with personal care routines, including feeding and hygiene.
• Observe children's play and interactions, reporting any relevant information to senior staff.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with the children.

Requirements

• A minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience working with young children is a plus.
• A genuine interest in early years education and child development.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• A patient, enthusiastic, and reliable nature.
