About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Childcare Development Officer to join their team in Glasgow . This role is instrumental in supporting the development and improvement of childcare services across the region. Operating on a hybrid model, you will conduct on-site assessments, provide training and consultancy to childcare providers, and undertake strategic planning and policy development remotely. You will play a key part in ensuring high-quality care, promoting best practices, and supporting the growth of childcare establishments, contributing to a robust and accessible childcare infrastructure within the community. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to influence childcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the establishment and improvement of childcare services, including nurseries, childminders, and out-of-school clubs.
- Conduct quality assurance assessments and provide constructive feedback to providers on their services and practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs and resources for childcare practitioners on various topics, including curriculum, safeguarding, and business management.
- Assist childcare providers in meeting regulatory requirements and achieving high standards of care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of local childcare strategies and policies.
- Undertake research and data analysis to identify trends and inform service development, working both remotely and in the field.
Requirements
- A relevant degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Childcare, Education, or a related field.
- Substantial experience in the early years or childcare sector, with a strong understanding of quality frameworks.
- Proven experience in training, assessment, or quality improvement within childcare settings.
- Excellent understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and best practices in childcare.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
