About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Childcare Development Officer to join their team, supporting childcare providers in and around Reading . This role offers a hybrid working model, combining on-site visits and support with remote administrative duties and strategic planning. You will play a key role in enhancing the quality of childcare services, providing guidance and support to nurseries, pre-schools, and childminders. The focus will be on ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, promoting best practices in early years education, and supporting the professional development of childcare practitioners. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of the early years sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and provide support visits to childcare settings to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Offer expert advice and guidance to childcare providers on curriculum development, pedagogy, and operational management.
- Develop and deliver training programs for childcare professionals, focusing on areas such as safeguarding, EYFS, and child development.
- Support the registration and ongoing monitoring of new childcare providers within the designated area.
- Assist in the implementation of local and national childcare policies and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of visits, assessments, and training activities, producing reports as required.
Requirements
- A relevant Level 5 or above qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare Management.
- Significant experience working in a senior role within the early years sector, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in delivering training, mentorship, or quality assurance support to childcare providers.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding legislation and child protection policies.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across both remote and on-site duties.
