Childcare Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Support Worker to assist in their busy nursery in Sheffield . You will work under the guidance of senior staff to provide essential support in the daily care and education of young children. This role is perfect for someone starting their career in childcare or looking to gain more experience in a nurturing and professional setting. You will contribute to creating a safe, happy, and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and develop, supporting the overall ethos and operational needs of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision and care of children aged from birth to five years.
• Support lead practitioners in planning and delivering daily activities.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised learning environment.
• Assist with meal times, nappy changes, and personal care routines.
• Engage with children in play activities, fostering their development and well-being.
• Support communication with parents and carers.

Requirements

• An introductory qualification in childcare or a willingness to work towards one (e.g., Level 2).
• Experience interacting with children is advantageous but not essential.
• A genuine passion for working with young children.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
