Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client, an established childminder in Plymouth , is seeking a reliable and nurturing Childminder Assistant to support their daily operations. This role involves providing excellent care and supervision for children in a home-based setting, assisting with daily routines, activities, and meal times. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, fun, and educational environment for the children, working closely with the lead childminder. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead childminder in supervising and caring for children of various ages.
• Engage children in age-appropriate play, educational activities, and outings.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and tidying up after meals.
• Support children with personal care routines, such as nappy changing and hand washing.
• Ensure the childminding environment is safe, clean, and stimulating at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the lead childminder regarding children's progress and any concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young children is highly desirable.
• A genuine love for working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a responsible attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a small team.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, such as Paediatric First Aid.
