Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and caring Childminder Assistant to support their registered childminding service in Plymouth . This role involves assisting the lead childminder in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing home-based environment for young children. You will help with daily routines, engage children in activities, and ensure their well-being and development. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in childcare, is reliable, and works well within a team, contributing to a positive experience for the children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead childminder in providing daily care for children.
• Engage children in a variety of play-based learning activities.
• Support children's routines, including feeding, napping, and hygiene.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment.
• Support the implementation of activity plans and educational goals.
• Communicate effectively with the lead childminder and contribute to daily logs for parents.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• A genuine passion for childcare and child development.
• Good understanding of basic safeguarding and health and safety principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
• Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic.
• Willingness to learn and develop childcare skills in Plymouth .
