About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Childminder Assistant to support a registered childminder in their busy home-based setting in Cardiff . This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in a childcare setting. You will work closely with the lead childminder, assisting in the daily care and supervision of young children. The role focuses on providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, helping children to develop through play and structured activities, contributing to their overall well-being and early development in a close-knit family atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder in providing high-quality care for children aged 0-5.
• Supervise children during play, meals, naps, and outings, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Engage children in a variety of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, reading, and outdoor play.
• Help with preparing snacks and meals, adhering to dietary requirements and hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness within the childminding environment.
• Support the development of children's social, emotional, and physical skills through positive interaction.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for working with young children.
• Previous experience in a childcare setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Understanding of basic safeguarding principles.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, such as Paediatric First Aid.
