Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and caring Childminder Assistant to support their registered childminder in Manchester . This is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about early years care to gain valuable experience in a home-based setting. You will work closely with the lead childminder, assisting in the provision of a safe, stimulating, and loving environment for a small group of children. Your role will involve actively engaging with the children in play-based learning, supporting daily routines, and helping to maintain high standards of care and hygiene, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for every child.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder in supervising and caring for children aged 0-5.
• Engage children in a variety of play activities, both indoors and outdoors, that support their development.
• Support with daily routines, including feeding, napping, and hygiene.
• Help prepare snacks and light meals, adhering to dietary requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe play environment.
• Observe and record children's progress and communicate effectively with the lead childminder.

Requirements

• A genuine love for working with children and an understanding of child development.
• Previous experience in childcare is preferred but not essential.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check and relevant safeguarding training.
• Ability to work as part of a small team and follow instructions carefully.
