Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and caring Childminder Assistant to support a registered childminder in Cardiff . This role involves assisting in the day-to-day care of young children, helping to create a warm, safe, and stimulating home-based environment. You will be involved in supervising play, preparing snacks, assisting with routines such as naps and mealtimes, and ensuring the children's well-being. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about childcare who enjoys working in a smaller, family-oriented setting in the heart of Wales .

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder in providing high-quality care and supervision for children.
• Engage children in age-appropriate play activities, both indoors and outdoors, to promote development.
• Help prepare nutritious snacks and meals for the children.
• Support children with daily routines, including dressing, nappy changes, and toileting.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised childminding environment.
• Communicate effectively with the registered childminder regarding children's needs and progress.

Requirements

• Experience working with children is preferred, but not essential.
• A genuine love for working with children and supporting their development.
• Excellent patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow childminding policies and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
