Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and caring Childminder Assistant to support a registered childminder in Cardiff . This role involves assisting in the care of a small group of children in a home-based setting, providing a safe, fun, and stimulating environment. You will help with daily routines, activities, outings, and meal preparation, working closely with the lead childminder to ensure the well-being and development of each child. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with children and wants to gain valuable experience in a flexible childcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the registered childminder in providing high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years.
• Engage children in age-appropriate play, educational activities, and crafts.
• Help with meal and snack preparation, adhering to dietary needs and preferences.
• Support children with personal care routines, including nappy changing and toileting.
• Ensure the safety and security of the children at all times, maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
• Accompany the childminder on outings to parks, libraries, and other community facilities.

Requirements

• Previous experience with children (formal or informal) is essential.
• A genuine passion for childcare and child development.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a responsible attitude.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
