Childminder - Self-Employed

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and responsible individual to establish themselves as a Childminder within the Sunderland community. This self-employed role offers the flexibility to work from your own home, providing high-quality childcare for multiple families. You will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and home-based learning environment, fostering the development of the children in your care. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caregiver looking for autonomy and the ability to run their own childcare service within Tyne and Wear .

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and secure home-based childcare environment, adhering to all Ofsted regulations.
• Plan and deliver a range of engaging, age-appropriate activities and learning opportunities.
• Provide nutritious meals and snacks, considering dietary requirements.
• Develop positive relationships with children and their families, fostering trust and open communication.
• Manage daily routines, including play, rest, and meals.
• Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents.

Requirements

• Must hold or be willing to obtain a Childminder qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3).
• Registration with Ofsted (or relevant regulatory body) is essential.
• Demonstrable experience in childcare.
• Excellent understanding of child development, safeguarding, and health & safety.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming, and stimulating home-based environment.
