About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Childminder Support Officer to join their team in Cardiff , playing a vital role in supporting registered childminders across Wales. This position involves a blend of remote administrative tasks and on-site visits, ensuring childminders receive the necessary guidance, resources, and regulatory oversight to provide high-quality, safe childcare. You will be instrumental in helping childminders navigate inspections, professional development, and operational challenges, contributing to the availability of reliable childcare solutions throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support and guidance to registered childminders, assisting them with registration, compliance, and best practice.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to childminder settings, assessing adherence to safeguarding policies and the EYFS framework .
- Organize and deliver training sessions and workshops for childminders on various topics, including child development and health and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of childminder compliance, inspections, and support provided.
- Act as a key point of contact for childminders, responding to queries and offering advice on operational and pedagogical matters.
- Promote the benefits of registered childminding and support childminders in marketing their services effectively.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or a related field.
- Significant experience working within a childcare setting, preferably with childminders or as an Early Years inspector.
- In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or relevant Welsh framework.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and travel to various locations for visits.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record-keeping and reporting.
