Civil Design Engineer - Utilities & Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Civil Design Engineer to contribute to their growing team in Edinburgh . This role focuses on the design and integration of essential utilities and infrastructure for a range of development projects across Scotland. You will be responsible for creating robust designs for water, sewerage, and drainage systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop potable water supply networks, foul and surface water drainage systems.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
• Undertake site assessments and feasibility studies for new utility infrastructure.
• Liaise with statutory undertakers, local authorities, and other consultants to gain necessary approvals.
• Ensure all designs comply with Scottish Water standards, building regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and provide construction support as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in the design of water, sewerage, and drainage infrastructure.
• Familiarity with relevant Scottish regulations and standards (e.g., Scottish Water's Sewers for Scotland).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage, PDS).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• An understanding of the development process and site constraints is advantageous.
