Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their forward-thinking team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role focuses on the detailed design phase of various infrastructure projects, translating concepts into buildable plans. You will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, working closely with project managers and site teams. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, and public realm schemes.
• Produce accurate engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications using CAD and design software.
• Conduct site feasibility studies and surveys to inform design development.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national standards, building regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors throughout the design process.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and construction phase support as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in civil engineering design, with a strong understanding of infrastructure principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
• Knowledge of drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage) is advantageous.
• Good understanding of UK planning and building regulations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, suitable for a hybrid working environment.
