About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their established team in Coventry . This role is integral to developing innovative and sustainable civil engineering solutions for a range of construction and infrastructure projects across the Midlands. You will be responsible for the detailed design aspects of these projects, ensuring that all work is compliant with current standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed civil engineering design for roads, drainage, earthworks, and associated infrastructure using specialist software.
- Produce engineering drawings, calculations, and specification documents for tender and construction phases.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants to integrate civil engineering designs seamlessly.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, monitor construction progress, and resolve design queries.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national and local planning policies, building regulations, and environmental standards.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and the tendering process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a civil design engineering role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.
- Knowledge of drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with UK highway design standards (e.g., DMRB) and Sewers for Adoption.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
