Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to join their established team in Coventry . This role is essential for designing and overseeing the technical aspects of various infrastructure projects, ensuring that all designs meet stringent engineering standards and client specifications. You will be instrumental in transforming conceptual designs into practical, buildable solutions for a range of public and private sector clients. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations for infrastructure projects including roads, earthworks, and utilities.
• Perform site analysis and surveys to inform design decisions and identify potential challenges.
• Ensure designs comply with UK building regulations, planning policies, and environmental legislation.
• Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare technical documentation for planning applications and tender submissions.
• Undertake site visits to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with design specifications.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Civil Design Engineer, with a portfolio showcasing relevant project work.
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Civil 3D , and knowledge of structural analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of UK drainage design, highway design, and earthworks principles.
• Familiarity with relevant design standards such as DMRB and Sewers for Adoption.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.
