Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to join their busy office in Edinburgh, Scotland . This role is central to the design and planning of various civil engineering projects, including site development, drainage systems, and transportation infrastructure. You will be responsible for producing high-quality design drawings, calculations, and specifications, working closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil engineering designs for site infrastructure, including roads, drainage, utilities, and earthworks.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and design specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct drainage design and calculations, including SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) where applicable.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and statutory undertakers to obtain necessary approvals and consents.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant Scottish building standards and environmental regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and provide technical support during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering design .
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.
• Experience with drainage design software and understanding of hydraulic principles.
• Knowledge of Scottish planning policies and building standards.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively within a project team.
