Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Civil Design Engineer to contribute to their prestigious projects in Edinburgh . This role focuses on the detailed design and technical aspects of various civil engineering schemes, including residential developments, commercial sites, and public infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to translate project requirements into robust, compliant designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the successful technical delivery of projects that enhance the urban landscape of Scotland's capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed civil engineering design for sites, including drainage, roads, earthworks, and utility provisions.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports using relevant software packages.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and topographical surveys to inform design development.
• Ensure designs comply with current UK building regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety legislation.
• Coordinate design activities with internal teams and external consultants, contractors, and statutory bodies.
• Assist in the supervision of construction phases, providing technical support and resolving site queries.

Requirements

• BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering .
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in civil design, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage).
• Good understanding of geotechnical principles , highways design, and SFN regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
