Civil Engineer - Structural Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Civil Engineer with a focus on structural design to join their innovative team in Cambridge . This role involves the detailed design of structural elements for buildings and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, stability, and efficiency. You will work on a variety of challenging projects, collaborating closely with architects and other engineers to bring complex designs to life. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural principles, proficiency in relevant design software, and a keen eye for detail, contributing to high-quality engineering solutions within a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural components and systems for buildings and infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant building codes, British Standards, and Eurocodes.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site visits to verify design compliance and resolve structural issues during construction.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering materials and techniques.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience in structural design for buildings and/or infrastructure.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, or similar .
• Strong knowledge of materials like concrete, steel, and timber.
• Excellent understanding of building codes and structural engineering principles.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for a hybrid environment.
